Mini G4 vs Mini Intel fan noise

I've been digging around the net and even starting a thread on Apple discussions regarding this issue. The majority of replies indicate that the Intel Mini version is more silent than the G4. One post told me though that his Intel Mini fan has a higher noise level than a G4, most likely due to some hardware problem is my guess. So, will I be buying a new Mini, well I'm not sure yet. We have to see what Apple will be releasing in the autumn, when I thought about getting a Core Duo Mini.
