Logitech Premium 350 USB headphones...

Today I bought the Logitech Premium 350 USB headphones. Waiting to recieve good audio quality I thougt these must be great. Well, I am disapointed. Paying 47 Euros for this is a blatant highway robbery.

They are not comfortable, they press on the ears very hard and because I wear glasses this makes these headphones even more so uncomfortable. Audio wise the sound is very muted and there is no clearness in the sound when listening to music, it is as you were listening to music in a barrel. The microphone is great though. It has a background noise cancel-out feature that does work. Don't use this headphone for games though, as you will just get angry at the crap sound quality they deliver. Oblivion on my PC sounds very muted.

Connectionwise these were a breeze to setup. Just plug in the headphones into the USB port, and they work.

Final verdict? Steer clear of this product. Learn from my mistake, buy regular headphones of decent quality, and buy a seperate microphone. And if you have a Mini G4 as I do, buy a USB to audio in/out converter. So there you have it. I will go back to my broken headphones, at least they have good audio properties. If I'm to chat over the net, then I will use these, not otherwise.

External HD...

It's been a while since I've posted something new onto my blogsite about the Mini-switch I have done. Why? Well, everything works as it should. However, today I finally got my USB to SATA external hd enclosure. Installing the SATA drive into the enclosure was easy, but figuring out how to delete the Linux partitions on the SATA drive seemed like impossible. As I booted up my Mini, it recognized the external drive immediately. It could not however mount the images as they were ext3. I decided I wanted to delete the partitions. I tried to erase the first partition and replace it with Mac Os Extended Journaled, it worked as it should. I also formatted the second Linux ext3 parition hoping that I could merge the two drives after that. No dice though. After trying out almost everything I could think of in Disk Utility, I decided to try fdisk and pdisk. No go with them either. Going back to Disc Utility, I decided to right click the drive and try to merge the two partitions. And what did I see? I could erase all of the content on the drive by just rightclicking on the drive instead of trying to do it the difficult way.

Lesson learned? Don't try the difficult ways, if it is Mac OS X, try thinking logical and ease of use ;) And lo and behold, it is the solution for all situations in OS X.
